Your Patriotic Duty To Succeed

If you live in America you've won the jackpot

We’re too far away from the hard fought battles of survival and freedom to fully appreciate, and sufficiently protect, what’s been handed over to us by those who created this nation.

We've been given everything in this country, which is great; but, it has created a culture of complacency that we have all held onto for way too long.

It doesn't matter if you're unemployed and waiting for the "Perfect" job to pop up 3 miles away from your house or you're an executive performing at the top of the marketplace. There are other, more hungry, people around the world who have their eyes on your next opportunity and it will be your sense of entitlement and arrogance that will allow them to take it.

This "entitlement" has been protected for many years, not by our efforts, but by our geography. Technology has created a much "smaller world" and those who are hungry for freedom and opportunity no longer need to stowaway or sell all of their belongings to get a ticket on a ship to get here, they just need an internet connection.

Guess what? They have one!

It's Not Yours - But if you want to give it away you can

Some of us might want to bury our heads in the sand so that we don't have to compete. That's okay, you can do it. You can give it away. That's freedom. But, here's the thing, it's not yours to just give away so if you do - you're a Jackass.

This country, these resources, this opportunity sitting before you was bought and paid for with blood. The blood of Americans fighting for your freedom. Yes, it’s the very freedom that allows you to sit back, complain on facebook like a little kid about what you aren't getting in life. That’s the freedom of which I speak.

There are jobs and opportunities just sitting unfilled all over our country. Why? Because people are too lazy and entitled to move their ass to another state to get good work. Well that's okay because there are people from all over the world that our just itching to get a 6-figure job and they'll gladly move anywhere to get it. If you keep your personal borders closed tighter than our countries borders you'll find yourself stranded on the island of "Missed Opportunity".

This worked so well we stopped doing it

The secret to success in this country has always been hidden right out in the open. Right in front of our eyes. What is it? Mother "F-ing" focus and determination! That’s right. Roll up your sleeves, put out and get some. We founded and built this country on those principles and that’s how we'll keep it.

That formula for the American dream has worked so well for so long that many of us have stopped using it. We’re all looking for the “Secret Sauce”, the shortcuts and the workarounds. Guess what? There aren’t any, let that bullshit go, get your ass back on track and start running.

Why do I have to work hard Eric?

Because, America is awesome and everyone wants, and deserves, a piece of it. Yes I said everyone. Just because our relatives got here first doesn't mean we're all entitled to just sit here. America is great because of the people. Not the people who are just sitting around, but the people who are here to get some.

You see America doesn't work because a bunch of lucky people just inhabited it. It works because people are competing to be here and hold the jobs and opportunities that surround us. So for those of you trying to keep others out just so that you don't have to remain relevant your time is coming.

Imagine a major league baseball team that never traded, drafted or let go of anyone. It would be a terrible team if the people who were on it didn't have to compete to keep their position. It would never evolve nor would it be able to compete. So if you're sitting on the bench somewhere just hoping that team America will not trade you because you were born here, guess what? It's a new season and you're about to get traded.

It's your patriotic duty to succeed

If you’re here in America then it’s your patriotic duty to succeed. People died to give you all of this opportunity, to get you this far out in front and it's your duty to take the "ball of freedom and opportunity" and run with it.

Now it may sound like I'm pleading with those who are already here, but I'm not. I'm talking to anyone who wants on the team. That's right I'm willing to "Trade" any of our players who are not getting after success. It's sounds a little counter intuitive, but I promise you the only ones who will be complaining are the people who are about to get traded.

So…

If you've made it this far then I haven’t completely pissed you off so I’m assuming that you’re down to lock arms and finish this race like we started. Together!
